9.2.8. PROHIBITION SIGNS
While all prohibition signs made from photoluminescent materials will provide additional orientation cues in an emergency, the following are recommended to form part of the escape path marking and emergency instructions concerning evacuation:-

i) "Do not use lift In an emergency"
ii) "Do not touch"
iii) "No exit"

9.2.9. LOW LOCATION LIGHTING LINES

9.2.9.1. GENERAL
Low location lighting lines are installed along the entire length of the escape path. The lines are continuous and unbroken. They should be applied to the floor or at the base of the wall at a height that should not exceed 400mm from the floor car to the bottom of the line. The characteristics of the low location lighting lines, and variations depending on escape path location are described in 9.2.9.2. to 9.2.9.7.

9.2.9.2. LUMINANCE PROPERTIES
Class II or Class 1 materials should be used according to their appropriate line width given in 7.3.

9.2.9.3. INTERNAL CORRIDORS
At least one side of internal corridors, forming part of the escape path should be marked with a low location lighting line.

The single line should preferably be located on the side of the corridor with the fewest breaks for adjacent doors and recesses having due consideration for the illuminance provision given in Section 6.6.

9.2.9.4. LOW LOCATION LIGHTING LINE WIDTH
For Class I I materials (equivalent for Glass 1 see 7.3.), the line width as a function of corridor width is follows:-

Class I material line widths may be used at a reduced width according to the provision of Section 7.3,

Corridor width m Low location lighting line width
(Class II material)
mm

<1.5 40
1.5 - 3.0 80
> 3.0 120
